Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Musanze

Morning/Afternoon: Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, a company representative will greet you and transfer you to Musanze. The 2-3 hour drive offers beautiful views of Rwanda’s rolling hills.

Evening: Relax and take in the views of the Virunga Mountains, or opt for a light evening activity such as visiting the local markets in Musanze.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Visit to Dian Fossey’s Grave

Early Morning: After breakfast, your guide will take you to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing at 7:00 AM.

Begin your gorilla trek with the help of expert guides and trackers.

Trekking time can vary depending on where your assigned gorilla family is located (2-6 hours). Spend up to one hour with the gorillas observing their interactions.

Afternoon: After lunch at the lodge, embark on a trek to visit Dian Fossey’s grave in the mountains.

The 3-hour hike to the Karisoke Research Camp will take you through lush forests and offer insights into her extraordinary conservation work.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking, Mountain Hiking & Twin Lakes Tour

Early Morning: After breakfast, your guide will take you for a golden monkey trek in Volcanoes National Park. These rare and lively primates are found in the bamboo forests, and the trek typically takes about 2-3 hours.

Late Morning: Option 1: Mountain Hiking – For adventure lovers, you can opt for a half-day hike to one of the nearby volcanoes, such as Mount Bisoke or Mount Karisimbi.

These treks offer stunning panoramic views of the park and surrounding areas.

Option 2: Twin Lakes Tour – Your guide will take you to the Twin Lakes of Ruhondo and Burera for a relaxing afternoon.

These crater lakes are a great spot for birdwatching and scenic views, perfect for unwinding after the more intense trekking activities.

Afternoon/Evening: After completing the activities of your choice, you will be transferred back to Kigali by your guide.

Your guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your departure.
