Day 1: Travel from Kigali to the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Goma

After picking you up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport, our guide will take you on a tour of the city’s finest sights, which includes the Genocide Memorial Center.

Following lunch, you will travel to Gisenyi before crossing into the Democratic Republic of the Congo to reach Goma. Stay the night at your lodge for dinner.

Virunga National Park as the destination

Day 2: Trekking with gorillas in Virunga National Park.

Get up early, eat breakfast, and then travel to the Bukima park station in the Congo’s Virunga National Park to receive instruction on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking.
The park rangers will handle this once you continue on your mountain gorilla hike in the Congo Jungle Forest.
Following a three to six-hour hike, you will find them and spend an hour photographing and observing them as they play with their young in the wild.
After hiking with the gorillas, you will later make your way back to the park headquarters to get ready to transfer to Goma. You can then unwind at the hotel.

Dinner and spending the night in Goma

Day 3: Scale the volcano Nyiragongo.

Travel from Goma to Kabati, the starting site for Nyiragongo climbing with Virunga National Park, after an early breakfast.
The park rangers will brief you before you begin your hike up the Nyiragongo volcano. You will pass through an amazing rain forest, continue along the lava eruption fissure and eventually reach the summit.
Spend the entire evening gazing at the lava within and taking in the view from the crate.

Day 4: Nyiragongo Volcano Descending.

After eating breakfast, descend the Nyiragongo volcano mountain, meet your driver, and, if time permits, head back to Goma for a city tour that includes a visit to the Goma caves.
Next, cross into Rwanda at the border and drive to Kigali International Airport.
