Day 2. Hiking the Nyiragongo Volcanoes

Because of the shifting temperature, guests should pack a rain jacket, rubber shoes, a climbing stick, a headgear, and plenty of water for when they walk through the tropical rainforest.

Tented camps are used for the nights, and the camp at the volcano’s peak serves food.

Day 3: Retrace your steps from the summit and spend the night in Goma.

Following breakfast in the morning at the highest peak camp, you will descend to the bottom, where your driver will drive you to Goma, where you can spend the night at the Mikeno Lodge and go on nature hikes through the village.

Day 4: Tracking gorillas in the Virunga National Park.

It is our expectation that our clients will rise early and enjoy breakfast in the morning. Carrying ample drinking water and a packed lunch from the lodge is recommended for hikers.
After dropping you off at the park headquarters, our driver will give you a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking.
The rationale for the early wake-up time is to catch the gorillas before they leave their nest in search of food.
You will begin your trek through the forest trail at 8:00 am.
In addition to seeing gorillas, you will also come across other creatures including monkeys and elephants as well as many bird species.
After assigning a gorilla family, visitors spend an hour with the primates, and gorilla permits cost $400 USD.
You will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay after a strenuous day of hiking the gorillas.
