Tour Overview

This Rwanda primate’s safari will take you to the country’s national parks as well as several historical locations in Rwanda, including as the Ibyiwacu Cultural Center, where you will learn about the culture of the Rwandan people. Additionally, you will visit the Genocide Memorial sites, the national museum, and the Kigali city tour during the course of these six days.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park.

After a briefing regarding the 6-day tour, our experienced driver/guide will get you from Kigali International Airport and take you to Nyungwe National Park. On your journey, you may expect to pass through verdant foliage and scenic hills. We will be spending the night and dinner at

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking/canopy walk/nature walk/birding.

Enjoy breakfast and travel to the park headquarters for chimpanzee tracking regulations. The tour guide and ranger will take you to the forest, where the ranger can locate chimpanzees. You’ll see chimpanzees, monkeys, and baboons.
Being assigned the chimpanzee family and spending an hour with them to take photographs and learn about them is the most thrilling part. Lunch and drinks at the lodge. In the afternoon, take a canopy walk to see monkeys and then stroll into the forest to see birds. Night 2: Dinner and sleep at same resort as day 1.

Day 3: Transfer to volcanoes National park.

Breakfast and transport to volcanoes begin with our experienced driver driving you via Lake Kivu, where you may snap photographs of magnificent beaches, waterbody, and locals fishing. After lunch at Lake Kivu hotels, you’ll go to the volcanoes national park. You will arrive later and stay at the lodge for supper and sleep.

Day 4: Gorilla tracking and visiting twin lakes.

Have breakfast early, pack your tracking gear, lunch, and water, and go to the park headquarters for a games ranger briefing. Gorilla tracking rules will be explained. Start searching for mountain gorillas in the rain forest.
You will spend an hour with the gorilla family before returning to the resort. Another visit to Burera and Ruhondo twin lakes to see blue waters and take photographs is required in the afternoon. Dinner and lodging at a lodge.

Day 5: golden monkey’s tracking/Dian Fossey Grave

Hike/Iblwacu cultural tour.
Breakfast at kingi park headquarters, then meet with wildlife rangers to learn how to follow rare golden monkeys. Golden monkey tracking takes time and requires a party of six. After following golden monkeys, rest at the resort for lunch before a community tour and Dian Fossey tomb visit. Dinner and stay at lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Kigali city for tour and departure.

Morning breakfast and travel to Kigali city start out. Most historical sites including the genocide memorial site and national museums will be on your city tour. After lunch, the driver will take you to Kigali airport or hotel.
