Day 2: Gorilla trekking.

After a hearty meal, it’s time to hit the hay for an early morning training on gorilla trekking safety procedures at the park headquarters. Our distant relatives, the mountain gorillas, will be waiting for you in the bush as you lead a party of eight trekkers into the wild.
After your allotted time with the gorillas has passed, you will return to the lodge. We will return to the lodge for supper and sleep following the communal walk in the afternoon.

Day 3: Dian Fossey tour

After a hearty breakfast, get up early and make your way to the world-renown Dian Fossey Research Centre and cemetery. Nearly twenty years ago, Dr. Dian Fossey began her research facility to habituate, study, and protect the endangered mountain gorillas. Go back to the lodge to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe national park.

The driver will take you to Nyungwe Forest National Park after you have breakfast in the morning. The montane forest, bamboo, grasslands, wetlands, and bogs are all habituates of the hilly Nyungwe forest. The ideal place to go hiking with golden monkeys is Nyungwe forest. Upon arrival, you will be taken care of by the lodge for your meals and overnight stay.

Day 5: chimpanzee trekking.

After breakfast, you’ll go to headquarters for a chimpanzee tracking briefing. The mission is to find habituated golden monkey populations and chimpanzees in the bush. Among the many species of monkeys you could see in the jungle are owl-faced monkeys, Angolan colobus, blue monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys. On the fourth day, you’ll have dinner and spend the night back at the lodge.

Day 6: Visit Genocide Memorial

After you finish your breakfast, visit the Genocide Memorial to see the graves of the victims. The conflict resulted in the deaths of several Tutsis and Hutus. The hotel Des Millecollines will provide the meals and the bedding.
