Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the national park of Kibale Forest.

For your gorilla trekking and chimpanzee safari, our guide will pick you up upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport or your Kampala accommodation.

Proceed west beyond Mubende into Kibale Forest and on to Fort Portal, where you will pause for lunch.

Continue and arrive in the late afternoon in Kibale Forest. Dinner and stay the night at the lodge of your choice.

Day 2: Tracking chimpanzees in the Kibale Forest.

Get up early to track chimpanzees at Kanyanchu after breakfast. You may need up to two hours for this.
During your chimp walk, you will likely come across some of the 13 other primate species that call Kibale woods home. These include the L’Hoest monkey, golden monkey, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, grey checkered mangabey, red colobus, blue monkeys, and pottos.
Other creatures include enormous forest hogs, a remarkable variety of tree, and forest elephants that are distinct from the common kind.

After lunch, enjoy a guided nature walk to the Bigodi Swamp Sanctuary, a popular birdwatching destination.
Among the 137 other bird species, the Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek are immediately identifiable. A variety of butterfly species are also present.
Later return for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Journey to the inaccessible national park of Bwindi.

After a hearty breakfast, you will depart for Bwindi Forest, which is home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population.
En route, you will pass through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is well-known for its tree-climbing lion population.
Proceed to Bwindi, stopping for lunch along the way, and arrive in the afternoon. Dinner and stay the night at the lodge of your choice.

Day 4: Tracking mountain gorillas in Bwindi and moving to Mgahinga

Following an early breakfast, you will make your way to the park headquarters to register and meet up with other guests for a briefing on gorilla trekking that will cover the dos and don’ts of your Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour. After that, it will take you anywhere from 30 minutes to three quarters of the day to hike through dense foliage and creepers with your guides in order to locate the gorillas.
Tourists can approach the extremely dense, heavily forested area through the numerous animal trails that traverse it. You might see uncommon tree species, birds, and other primates throughout your hike. You will have an hour to spend with the gorillas after locating them before returning on foot to the park headquarters.
It is indeed a remarkable experience to be among these exquisite yet threatened creatures. As a result of your involvement in gorilla trekking and support of mountain gorilla conservation, you will receive a certificate.
You will go to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, which is home to golden monkeys and gorillas, later in the afternoon.

Day 5: Trekking with golden monkeys and a trip to Lake Bunyonyi.

You will depart for golden monkey trekking in the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park following an early breakfast.
Throughout the course of this three-hour activity, you will see many local monkey species. Transfer from the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s most stunning and deep lodge, which is surrounded by various islands, later in the day.

Day 6: Lake Bunyonyi canoeing and departure.

After having breakfast in the morning, go kayaking on Lake Bunyonyi, where you may engage with the residents and snap pictures of this stunning lake.
Afterwards, you return to Kampala while having lunch. The guide will transport you back to your Kampala hotel.
Note: Since day 5 of the trip is only for transfer, you will not be participating in the canoeing activity if you plan to depart on this day.
Instead, you will use day 4 of the trip to snap pictures. Keep in mind that as the drive takes more than eight hours, you must schedule a late flight.
