Mgahinga national park is a small part of the virunga conservation area. This park is located in the far south western part of Uganda .this is the part where most of the national parks are found so you could get to travel to several other parks while at this destination so as to see the rest of the tourism attractions in the country’s national park. You can be able to access this park through the Kampala –kabale- kisoro road which is nice tarmac and it would take you 8hours to get to the destination, you can also alternatively use this road and branch off from Kabale to take a route that is more attractive and has lots of scenic views it follows the shoreline of the beautiful scenic lake Bunyonyi and it later joins the Kabale- Kisoro main road and its half way to Muko. The park is best known for the two rare primate species that it harbors that’s the mountain gorillas and the rare golden monkey species. There are also various other species that are in the forest namely the bird life that you can be able to see while on a nature walk in the forest.there are major activities which are gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking this activity is what may require you to first book a gorilla permit that will enable you engage in the trek with no difficulties at all so as to be able to see the gorillas in the mist.actually trekking in this park is less hectic and saves you the strain that you would go through in Bwindi impenetrable forest.
